This year marks the 20th anniversary of ‘Dirty Old Hip Hop’, so we celebrate with a repress of what is now considered a stone cold classic. Originally released in 2006 this Worldwide Awards nominated album is a masterful collection of tunes from 4hero’s Marc Mac. With musicians Somatik and Luke Parkhouse on board and rappers Voice and Capital A, Marc has re-imagined Hip-Hop breaks and beats and placed them into grooves that pay homage to the tunes from which those beats were originally sampled. A very post-modern approach has resulted in an album of timeless music which transcends eras and has the ability to sound as fresh as it does familiar. Moreover it works. Supa Jams are proud to present. For our, And their debut release, The CJP Band. Two peak time Disco Soul Funk laced 'Supa™' jams. Ready for the floor, Whilst perfectly encapsulating the labels ethos core. Disco by extension, Funk for guaranteed dancefloor retention. Music and lyrics for the soul will never not be the intention. First up 'You and Me and the Music', for the dancers, and DJ's looking for them to 'Lose it' on the floor. This one has it all, Just wait for the strings and 'hat tip' refrain to a legend of the game. On the flip 'We Can Never Go Back" brings us squarely back to 2025 lyrically. We ALL know 'The systems have changed' and indeed hope that nature will intrinsically "Remain the same". Nolo asks the same questions clearly forgotten by Jay K in 1993 perhaps? How do we balance our 'Pleasure as an act of defiance in a world that runs on greed'? In the meantime both tracks deliver the same time honoured essentials for dancing potential - Drum breaks for days, And the night time haze. Bass lines for the loose spined, Lyrical refined for the spiritual of mind. Hotter than the summer dance floors they'll be played on.300 limited pressing - Hand Stamped Sleeve.
